Personal Trainer Wishart Core News – Dec 2017

Welcome to our Personal Trainer Wishart Core News for December. I hope you are having a great lead up to Christmas and took our advice on how to survive this silly season. If you missed this article, make sure you check it out. Here is what we have been up to.

Community Matters – Personal Trainer Wishart

Congratulations to Craig Cooley for completing his first open water swim at Harvey Bay. He swam 2 kms as a part of a triathlon team.

He said the course was harder and colder than expected but still enjoyable. His team finished 14th out 65, and he credits his great results to the bike rider and a very quick runner.  He was so happy just to achieve his first goal – to survive!!

Well done to Craig for achieving something that he thought was not possible. Love the shirt, buddy!!

Congratulations to our team members Peter and Astrid for completing their 50th park run at Wishart. It shows real commitment to your health and fitness, and our whole community is really proud of you. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing about that bow tie, Pete!

What I really admire about this couple is that they both keep themselves accountable to each other. I am sure their “friendly” competition also helps. Well done for this achievement, and I thank Peter and Astrid for trusting their family’s wellbeing with us.

Staff Matters – Personal Trainer Wishart

Coach Mark

After returning to basketball last year, Mark has rediscovered his love for the sport. Taking this to another level, he is now training with the Open Redlands basketball team, which competes in the Southern Basketball League due to start in March/April next year. The competition includes all of the major associations in South East Queensland from the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba. It is the development league for the state basketball league.

He is unsure if he will get selected, but I congratulate him on trying out and following his passion despite his doubts. He also tells me that he is oldest in the squad by about 10 years!

Coach Cam

Thank you to everyone that supported my first and only Movember. Here is the finished product, and I was so happy to raise $500 for men’s health.

Business Matters – Personal Trainer Wishart

New Equipment – It is the season to spend and we have been having fun doing just that. We recently bought a whole heap of new toys that I am sure our clients are enjoying using, e.g. Battle rope, more skipping ropes, sand bag and extra toys for our Personal Training studio including new books and equipment for our client borrowing library.

Yes this is Peter again. He is now our official poster boy!!

Christmas Opening Hours

Our centre will be closed from the Saturday 23 December to Tuesday 2 January.

In a recent episode of SBS Radio’s Viva (Dutch version) our head fitness coach Cameron and some our active senior clients – Colin, Gillian and Faye – were interviewed on their thoughts. Here is the podcast and also the transcripts of our interviews.
