Personal Trainer Wishart Core News – Oct 2017

Welcome to our Personal Trainer Wishart Core News for October. Thanks to everyone for feedback on our last update and we hope you have had an amazing month. Here is what we have been up to.

Community Matters – Personal Trainer Wishart

Well done to our client Lisa who completed the White Ribbon’s Trek for Respect. The Larapinta Trail is regarded as one of Australia’s premier walking tracks. From the old Alice Springs Telegraph Station to the peak of Mount Sonder, the trail stretches 223 kilometres along the backbone of the West MacDonnell Ranges. She describes the experience as hard, hot and amazing. She was so happy with her preparation and training where she had no injuries unlike a significant number of others.

Inspiration comes from son. Almost two years ago, Christine’s son Jesse completed the 20 kilometre Tough Mudder and from that day Christine was inspired to do something similar. Last month she completed the obstacle course ‘Ms Muddy’ and loved every second. Well done, Christine (top row, 3rd from the left…I think!) for keeping the dream alive and achieving another fitness goal.

First Weight Loss Goal achieved – Celebrating successes is a vital step to establishing habits to reach goals. We wanted to share Irene’s success today.

This is the most weight I have ever lost (8 kgs) and it is all thanks to Core Health Coaching and coach Mark’s advice and support. Reaching the 70s by my birthday was achieved and I am certainly in for the long haul, with my sights to reach my new goal – being in the 60 kilos again. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for Mark’s guidance and patience. He has kept my feet on the ground to ensure I control my frustrations. The food sensitivity testing has also been a catalyst for my lifestyle changes.

Staff Matters – Personal Trainer Wishart

Coach Mark – Basketball season has restarted for Mark. He was a little disappointed with last season due to his hamstring injury, but it is better and stronger – ready for a great season.

Mark will also be away in Sydney in mid-October for a week to increase his CHEK qualifications. What is CHEK? Read more

To fulfill our Fitness Australia registration requirements, we have both completed the CPR and First Aid course last weekend. It was a bit of fun with the instructor adding some real flair to his work as well as decades of Paramedic experience. From the photos, you can legitimately say that we are head cases !

Coach Cam – It was great to have some time off at my family’s regular yearly holiday spot in Woodgate Beach. Spending quality time with family and friends, it is truly a gift and I thank Mark and our clients for their help.

Also thanks to Lisa and Craig that come along with me to the Warrie Circuit at Springbrook. It was a 17 km bush walk from the Canyon lookout, via two waterfalls to where three rivers meet and back to the top, taking about five hours. The view, the company and challenge were perfect.  If you are interested in bushwalking this is a fantastic walk and here is a great site that we use – https://www.aussiebushwalking.com/qld/springbrook/warrie-circuit

I am also looking forward to increasing my qualifications to an Intermediate Practitioner in Evidence Based Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) this month. This is 4-day weekend workshop at Bond University conducted by Peta Stapleton. She has over 20 years experience as a Clinical & Health Psychologist and is an Associate Professor in Psychology at Bond University. Peta leads worldwide research into psychological trials in the area of obesity and weight management and I am honoured to be part her course. I will also be looking for test subjects to practise my updated skills, so send me a quick email if you are interested. If you do not know much about EFT or Tapping here is some additional information.
